Young Jeezy’s Early Life

Jay Wayne Jenkins, better known as Young Jeezy, was born on September 28, 1977, in Columbia, South Carolina. His parents filed for divorce when he was a kid. After the separation of his parents, Jeezy moved to Macon, Georgia where he grew up. When he was a teenager, he had multiple run-ins with the law. For this reason, he was sent to a boot camp for several months due to drug possession.

Young Jeezy didn’t dream of becoming a celebrity, although he was intrigued by  the music industry.  It wasn’t until he stopped dealing with the streets and established an indie recording company called Corporate Thugz Entertainment (CTE World) in 1998 that he started taking music serious.
