It seems as though Lil Wayne and Birdman’s fued continues as Wayne has recently filed documents to separate his Young Money imprint from Birdman’s Cash Money Records. Wayne has reportedly asked the courts to “appoint a receiver to supervise the operations of Young Money Label joint venture or order the termination of Young Money Label joint venture and appoint a liquidator.”
The dispute began in 2014 when Wayne said that Cash Money is refusing to release his album Tha Carter V and that Wayne has yet to receive his $8 million dollar advance from Birdman. Recently Birdman refuted these allegations saying “you think I ain’t gonna make sure he straight?”
Wayne is also hostile because he brought an enormous amount of talent to the Cash Money Records with Drake and Nicki Minaj yet Birdman sees most of the profit.
In the meantime, Wayne is investing in Bumbu Rum Co. and a sports marketing company.
