Young rapper NLE Choppa announced on IG that he’s quitting rap. He made the emotional post also hashtagging Bi Polar Depression. He explained that the negative energy around him got to his head, “Ever(y) since I was little I can never do some I love and actually enjoy it without people tryna tell me how to do sh.., when to do sh…, and watt to do.” He then deleted his IG account.
Shortly after uploading his first song to YouTube early this year, the 16 year old whose birth name is Bryson Potts, had sparked a bidding war among record companies like Republic, Interscope and Caroline, with bids reaching as high as $3 million. He turned down those offers to enter a distribution partnership with UnitedMasters, Steve Stoute’s independent distribution company, without an advance and while retaining full ownership of his master recordings. This independence still came with restrictions that made Choppa unhappy.
