Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz were in their feelings about having to perform at the 2nd Annual Fall Ball concert at the Colonial Life Arena in South Caroline as an “opening at” for Cardi B. The rappers said even though Cardi has the number 1 song right now, they are far bigger artists and threatened not to show up if their set needed to be before hers.
The venues released this statement, “Each artist on the 2nd Annual Fall Ball is a headlining act in their own right. It was our preference to have Cardi B. to perform as the last act of the night however, both 2Chainz and Lil Wayne both threatened to cancel if this was done. Cardi B. currently has reached the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100. This record breaking achievement and something that has not been done in over 15 years by a female hiphop artist.”
Wayne ended up not performing as he refused to comply with the venue security’s search terms. The producers of the event say they will not refund tickets as the show was not markets as a Lil Wayne event.
It’s ok. Cardi is getting tons of girl power love from Nicki Minaj, Missy Elliott, and Lil’ Kim. Taylor Swift even sent Cardi some flowers and Rihanna gifted her with her entire Fenty makeup collection.
