Who Is Omi in a Hellcat?
Omi in a Hellcat whose real name is Bill Omar Carrasquillo, is a Youtube sensation who has always been shrouded in mystery. The mystery was a simple one – how in the f**k did he make all the money he flosses on his channel. The dude has filmed videos buying and renovating property, spending insane amounts on jewelry and giving out expensive gifts to family. Plus we can’t forget his fleet of cars he loves to show off (video below). There has been a ton of speculation around where he gets his money and it seems that we finally have an answer.
How did Omi in a Hellcat Make His Money?
Omi has several businesses that range from construction to rental property. But it seems his financial come-up was due in large part to an app he developed. Omi created and launched GearsTV which is an IPTV provider. IPTV stands for “internet protocol television” and is a way to send shows and movies through your standard internet connection. GearsTV offered a streaming service for $20 a month and was massively successful. Some estimates claim that Omi was pulling in upwards of $150,000 a month in profit. With that success in addition to his other ventures and successful Youtube channel, it’s easy to see how he had tons of money to burn.
Why Did The FBI Raid Omi in a Hellcat
It appears to be related to Omi’s streaming service and his failure to pay taxes. His business venture operated in a grey area and that mixed with Omi’s endless flossing may have attracted attention from the FEDs. When they start digging they are bound to find something.
Carrasquillo said in his video regarding the raid that he is being investigated for alleged money laundering, tax violations as well as the legality of Gears TV. Since November 20, numerous users of Gears TV had been complaining on Twitter that the service was down. A note on the Gears Reloaded website that said that “Servers are currently down for maintenance please stand by.”
A blurb on Gears Reloaded’s website describes the services as “revolutionizing the industry with premium channels such as HBO, Showtime, Cinemax and Stars.” The website also advertises Nickelodeon, Disney Channel and Cartoon Network. Another section says that “Gears Reloaded TV is the go-to IPTV service for Sports lovers. Watch every NFL game with NFL Sunday Ticket plus NBA League Pass & NHL Center Ice.”
There was bound to be serious consequences when you stream content from billion-dollar corporations without the proper licenses. Omi seems like a good guy who tried to exploit the system and had a run. Unfortunately this run may cost him some time behind bars. We hope the kid can pull through and come out on top.
